We’d bargain the IFC President’s job is one of the most complex student leadership roles on campus. Prime for IFC Presidents helps equip these fraternity leaders with the insights and support from the NIC that they need to succeed. Program curriculum includes a focus on better understanding the broader fraternity landscape, the IFC’s relationship with the NIC, familiarity with NIC Standards and Positions and why they matter to IFCs, the role and limitations of the IFC, leading your fraternity community and managing your executive board, building trust and confidence with chapter presidents and interfraternal leaders, other key competencies and practices for IFC Presidents, and NIC campus support resources for your IFC community.
Prime for IFC Presidents and IFC Academy complement one another. The program format is virtual, with a session hosted mid-December and two sessions in early-January. IFC Presidents should choose one two-day session that works best for their schedule. Prime for IFC Presidents is hosted on day one of the session, then IFC Academy is hosted on day two for the full IFC executive team.
Prime for IFC Presidents is an institute, not a conference. That means you don’t pick and choose what sessions to attend; rather, curriculum pieces build off of each other to create an intentional learning experience. Throughout each session, participants will engage in large- and small-group discussion with facilitators and other IFC Presidents from across the country. All participants are expected to be present and actively engage in conversation.
How to register
Log in to our data portal, FS Central, navigate to Events, and follow prompts. FS Central is the online hub for IFCs to manage their contacts (students and advisors). Users should have a Fraternity-Sorority ID (FSID) that is connected to their personal email. Visit FS Central to sign in or create an account. Note that if you have been an IFC officer or campus professional previously, you may have an existing account.
When registering, participants will be asked to provide their session date preference. The NIC will make every effort to accommodate each registrant’s preferred session. However, in the interest of balancing total participants across all 3 sessions, please note that registrants may be assigned a session other than their top preference. The sooner you register, the more likely you’re to be placed in your preferred session.
