Earning Your Membership: Technology, Learning, and Accolades

Evolving our use of technology to engage our members for a “21st Century membership experience.” Sigma Alpha Epsilon will share their experience with the development of online learning for their members, starting at the turn of the century and culminating in the newest program, Accolades, which incentivizes members to continuously earn their membership.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

James Irwin serves as the Director of Educational Programs for Sigma Alpha Epsilon

James Irwin

Fraternity. In this role he manages in-person chapter-based program development, educational events and various other initiatives. During his time in this position, the educational initiatives and offerings of the Fraternity have grown expanded greatly. The Phoenix Member Education Program has been in development for three years, and provides a comprehensive, undergraduate-driven educational experience for all members of a chapter. He is most proud of the Accolades program, where members receive recognition for individual and chapter achievements. In this program, brothers earn their membership every day through their actions. Irwin is a resident of Chicago, where he enjoys running marathons and cheering for the Cubs.

Michelle Brien is Vice President of Marketing and Product Strategy at WBT Systems.

Michelle has a strong international background in education and technology. Her experience includes business development, partner management, strategic planning, and marketing for global digital educational publishers, universities, and cloud technology firms. With TopClass LMS by WBT Systems, Michelle’s focus is to develop resources and content to guide and support fraternal and chapter-based organizations in using technology to enhance the learning experience, providing value and real engagement with your members, chapter officers, and alumni.
